External Job Description* :

Seeking highly motivated, instrument chemist to join company’s GPSD RnD (China)  to develop state of art analytical instrument.

company is a world leading provider of analytical solutions in the environmental, forensics, food & flavors, petrochemical, chemical, life sciences and pharmaceutical industries. The company develops and provides world leading measurement instrument to meet customers’ needs. Being part of R&D team, you’ll work with world class R&D, Marketing, Manufacturing and support organizations to identify, develop GC product to customers. Your principle responsibilities will be to:
• Work with MKTG to understand customer needs and breakdown MKTG requirement into detailed HW/SW functions, features, define the corresponding performance for the key features and the whole system.
• Define, develop and optimize the work-flow of new product in terms of HW and SW operation from the perspective of customers; provides support to HW/FW/SW team to clarify application scenario and customer requirement for the new function/product.
• Develop and implement the test plan and test method to investigate new technique application feasibility; to evaluate the effectiveness, performance and usability of new HW design; key parts and overall system; to find out the instrument performance limitation.
• Cross function collaboration: work with MKTG to develop application for new product, or provide consultancy to product line for test method development; work with product support team to solve application related issue;
• Make records and documentation on test plan/protocols and test result; manage the chemicals and chemical lab safety/order with technician.

External Qualifications* : The successful candidate for this job will have:
• Phd in analytical chemistry, environmental chemistry or other chemical-related discipline with 1-2 year hands-on experience on GC or GC/MS HW and workstation is a must; experience in application development  and strong capability in data analysis will be preferred.
• Knowledge/experience in one or more following areas will be a plus: electronics, mechanics, firmware, software.
• Demonstrated capability in problem identification and solving.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese.
