  1. Entrepreneurs are different from ordinary people. What qualifications do they own?

  • They tend to be interested in making money.
  • A desire not to have a boss is the key point. Entrepreneurs are so self-confident that they do not want to be managed.
  • They’ve got their own ideas about what they want to do. In other words, they strive for leadership.
  • Willingness to keep going and to not give up is also needed.
  1. In terms of leadership, how can an entrepreneur lead somebody who challenges him? How to convince such employees?
  • A mature leader probably wants that. It’s good for an entrepreneur to have brigter employees in the company.
  • The first important thing you need to do is to refrain that it is not a piece of criticism but a feedback.
  • The second thing is that you must show great respect for such employees. Be open to listen to their ideas. It is absolutely strength for the company.
  • The worst thing for management is to suppress those who outsmart the managers.
  1. Does an entrepreneur need to have the interest in making money?
  • Actually it is more about what money can do for you and what money can do for your life. That is the motivation. Make money to offer families a better life or to make the world a better place.
  1. In old days, there is a tendency to look down upon businessman. Now how we look at entrepreneurs?
  • In many ways, entrepreneurship is a mean to an end. It is a way of providing yourself with what you are motivated to gain.
  • Once an entrepreneur comes to a certain level, once he makes so much money, he starts to go to a higher plain. Then he will be devoted to charitable causes. That’s the high class of entrepreneurship.
  1. Are there other qualities to be an entrepreneur? What qualities should overseas businessman have?
  • Register a company in China takes about 6 months. So to be an entrepreneur should have a lot more patience.
  • Overseas businessman should get familiar with the culture, the society and the hidden rules first. And my view is that westerners need to do things step by step and take a long-term perspective.
  1. What resources are useful for people who want to start their own business? Do we have to go to a business school? A quick advice for graduate who want to be an entrepreneur.
  • Absolutely no. It is not a must. But such educational background does have a place.
  • People and human resources are the most useful. Having a network of people who can help is the key thing.
  • Work and learn things properly. Graduates should have a correct assessment of their abilities.
